A Surefire Way to Gain Back Energy
Take a break, do something you're good at for a minute.
If you’re feeling down, unmotivated, or stuck during the day, take a break and do something you know you’re really good at.
For me, it’s usually hopping on my drum kit and playing along with an upbeat, guilty-pleasure pop rock song. “Musician” is the identity I’ve had longest in my life (25 of my 36 years!), so it’s ego-boosting for me to indulge the comfortable identity.
What’s that thing for you? You might not be able to hop on a drum kit at home or the office, but I bet you can do something: sketch, work out, solve a puzzle, play a video game.
Do it, and I guarantee you’ll gain more self-confidence and energy to tackle whatever’s in front of you.
